Pelargonium

Pelargonium, often simply called geranium, is one of the most beloved and classic houseplants in the world. With its vibrant colors, fragrant leaves, and generous flowering, the pelargonium is a timeless favorite found on windowsills, balconies, and in gardens across the globe.

There are hundreds of varieties – from compact, upright types to trailing pelargoniums that spill over in cascades of color. The flowers come in nearly every shade imaginable: white, pink, red, coral, and even striking bicolor combinations. Many varieties also feature aromatic foliage with scents reminiscent of lemon, rose, or mint.

Pelargoniums thrive in sunny locations and well-draining soil. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings and feed regularly during the growing season. Remove spent blooms to encourage new growth and continuous flowering.
